Yesterday I had a pretty bad morning of pain. It was also the day we started
soccer camp, which we have been looking forward to for a long time and I did NOT want to miss it. I was laying in bed, feeling desperate because I knew I couldn't take care of the kids all day, and then go to soccer camp. So, I toyed with the idea of putting a plea on facebook. I finally got the nerve to do it and within five minutes, a precious angel called me. She was here within the next 15 minutes and I never even got out of bed. She came and got Sarah from me and I passed out. When I woke up a couple of hours later, not only had she taken care of my kids, but she folded all my laundry, put clean sheets on Sarah's bed, AND cooked us dinner!!! I was in awe. I was feeding Sarah sitting on my couch, thinking, "I can't even believe all of the things she is doing right now." I just can't even believe there are people this nice in the world! I'm not that nice. I want to be now though. It was such a blessing. And because I was able to rest my back for a while, I was able to go to soccer camp and it was great! The boys had a blast!
The next couple of days, we are taking it easy around the house and Dylan brought out this book.
If you have toddlers, and you don't have this book, go get it today. It is full of creative things to do on a very cheap budget and without leaving your house! This is what the boys are doing right now...
I had to send Jason back to his office because he came out and almost had a heart attack! It will take me a max of five minutes to clean up. So it's better if he just walks away for the time being:)
Soccer pictures coming soon...
I'm looking for that book today! That is awesome, the boys must have loved it. I am so happy for you that you have such a special friend in your life that would be such a blessing to you. I'm sure it blessed her just as much.
ReplyDeletemy favorite part is that they are in their undies :) our boys have undie or pajama days ALL the time!! so cozy and so fun!
ReplyDeleteI'm getting that book for my preschool class!! Mindy, you truly are an inspiration to me! I love keeping up with things through your blog! You're faith, honesty, and love for your family are just amazing!! I really want to be the kind of mom you are to your children and the wife you are to your husband! so thankful I met you at Pine Cove 2 years ago!
ReplyDeleteJenny, thank you. She is very special and what makes it even cooler is that I don't know her very well. We have never hung out outside of church. That's a pretty special person! I think you will like the book. I have gotten quite a few ideas out of it:)
ReplyDeleteMisty, ummm...my boys are pretty much in their underwear all the time until the moment we are about to go somewhere!! Haha:)
Kasa, You are too kind. I know you will be an amazing mommy and wife. Thank you for your sweet words of encouragement. I wish you were still at PC. Please pray that the boys connect with their counselors this summer! Thanks. I've been reading your blog also and I'm sorry you are going through a rough time. Love you!
